Italian Ultra-light Aircraft at Air Tattoo 2022

On July 13, 2022 a group of light aircraft of the Fly Fano Team made a refuelling stop at the Turin Aeritalia airport (LIMA). They were heading for the RAF Air Base of Fairford for the 2022 edition of the Royal International Air Tattoo to enrich the Italian static display. The Aero Club Fano initiative had the patronage of the Aero Club d'Italia and other local administrations. Worthy of mention is the certification for formation flying of eight of the Fly Fano Team's pilots in 2017. Accordingly the take-off from Aeritalia to France was performed in a rare and highly spectacular way. The round trip totalled 3,500 km with further stopovers in Belgium, Austria and Switzerland.
All the Fly Fano Team's aircraft which took part in the raid, with the sole exception of the Cessna 172RG Cutlass RG II I-HEDY, were Italian-designed ultralights. They included the Tecnam P.92 Echo Super I-9272, the Alpi Aviation Pioneer 200 I-9401 and the Pioneer 200 Sparrow I-8526 plus home-built machines such as the Asso Aerei Asso IV I-9518, Asso IV Whisky I-9759 and Asso X Jewel I-D232. In 2015, the Fly Fano Team, with a smaller number of aircraft, was also present at the Cosford Air Show.
