Il costruttore canadese Bombardier ha consegnato il primo biturboelica ad alta velocità Q400 alla Island Air, compagnia aerea delle Hawaii con base ad Honolulu, ultimo cliente in ordine di tempo ad aver scelto questo tipo di aereo. L’Island Air diventa anche il 17° vettore ad utilizzare il Q400. Il velivolo, configurato per 78 posti, collegherà l’Honolulu International Airport alle principali isole dell’arcipelago: Kauai, Lanai, Maui, Molokai ed Hawaii, che è l’isola maggiore.
Più di 175 esemplari di Q400 sono stati ordinati da vettori che operano nelle Americhe, in Africa, in Asia, nell’area del Pacifico, in Europa e nel Medio Oriente. Più di 800 aeroplani, tra il precedente Dash 8 e gli altri modelli dell’attuale Serie Q, sono stati ordinati in tutto il mondo.

Canadian manufacturer Bombardier delivered the first high-speed Q400 twin-turboprop airliner to the newest customer of the type, Honolulu-based Island Air in the Hawaii Islands. Island Air becomes also the 17th carrier to put in service the Q400. The aircraft, configured in a 78-seat layout, will connect Honolulu International Airport to the main islands of the archipelago: Kauai, Lanai, Maui, Molokai and Hawaii, the biggest one.
More than 800 Q400 aircraft have been ordered by airlines flying in the Americas, Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Middle East. More than 800 aircraft, including the previous Dash 8 and the other models of the current Q Series, have been ordered worldwide.
