ICP Savannah XL I-AFYA è una costruzione amatoriale (costruttore A.P.ENDE ONLUS, tipo “Savannah AP”) ed ha ottenuto il Permesso di Volo dall’ENAC. Insieme ad un altro Savannah, è destinato ad operare nell’ambito del “Progetto Ndege Ndogo” che intende migliorare l’assistenza sanitaria nel remoto territorio tribale di Tharaka in Kenya. Il termine “afya”, nella lingua swahili - parlata in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda e nel Congo orientale - significa “salute”. L’aereo è ripreso in decollo dall’aviosuperficie di Castelnuovo Don Bosco, in Piemonte, durante il “6° Raduno Nazionale ed Internazionale aerei Bingo!, Savannah e Vimana” del 12 settembre 2010. ICP Savannah XL I-AFYA is an home-built VLA manufactured by non-profit organization A.P.ENDE ONLUS (as type “Savannah AP”). It received a Permit to Fly by ENAC (the Italian Civil Aviation Authority). A.P.ENDE plans to use two Savannah aircraft as the mobility element of “Project Ndege Ndogo” aimed at improving medical assistance in the remote Tharaka territory, Kenya. The swahili word “afya” means “health”. The aircraft is seen taking off from Castelnuovo Don Bosco airfield (Piedmont, Italy), on September 12, 2010, during the “Sixth ICP aircraft fly-in”.
