La Boeing ha presentato ufficialmente la colorazione scelta per i suoi B.747-400 Large Cargo Freighter, gli aerei appositamente modificati per trasportare le grandi strutture in composito con le quali verrà costruito il futuro bireattore B.787 Dreamliner. La società ha anche annunciato che questi velivoli sono stati (appropriatamente) battezzati Dreamlifter.
La vistosa modifica che trasforma i B.747 in Dreamlifter è realizzata presso la Evergreen Aviation Technologies Corp. di Taiwan. Il secondo LCF arriverà a Seattle all’inizio del prossimo anno, già dipinto e pronto a partecipare al programma di certificazione in corso.
Queste due notizie sono state date a clienti, fornitori e dipendenti nel corso di un’assemblea tenutasi nello stabilimento di Everett, per festeggiare il roll out virtuale del B.787 Dreamliner ed illustrate gli ultimi sviluppi dei vari programmi in corso.

Boeing today unveiled the new paint scheme for its B.747-400 Large Cargo Freighters, the specially modified airplanes that will transport the large composite structures of the all-new B.787 Dreamliner. The company also announced that the airplanes will be named Dreamlifters.
The airplanes are being modified by Evergreen Aviation Technologies Corp. in Taiwan. The second LCF will arrive in Seattle early next year, already painted and ready to participate in the ongoing flight test program.
The announcement was made to customers, partners and employees who gathered at the Boeing Everett factory today to celebrate the virtual roll out of the B.787 Dreamliner and the programs progress over the last year.
