La Boeing ha comunicato di aver ricevuto un nuovo ordine dalla Cathay Pacific Airways per tre B.777-300. Per i nuovi aerei, il vettore con base ad Hong Kong ha scelto i motori Rolls-Royce Trent 800. Questi velivoli, configurati per 382 passeggeri (59 in business class e 323 in economica) saranno usati principalmente sulle rotte della regione Asia-Pacifico. Il valore della commessa si aggira sui 600 milini di dollari.
Cliente di lancio sia del B.777-300 che del B.777-200, la Cathay Pacific utilizza attualmente sette aerei del primo tipo e cinque del secondo. Con quest'ultimo ordine, il totale dei B.777 della Cathay Pacific Airways salirą a quindici entro la fine del 2004. Gli aerei di linea della famiglia B.777 sono stati comperati da pił di trenta compagnie aeree. Attualmente ne sono stati ordinati oltre 600 nelle varie versioni.

Boeing Company today confirmed a firm order from Cathay Pacific Airways for three B.777-300s. The Hong Kong based airline selected Rolls Royce Trent 800 series engines to power the new airplanes. The new jetliners, to be used primarily for routes within the Asia Pacific region, will be configured with 382 seats -- 59 business class and 323 economy class. The value of the order, at Boeing list prices, is estimated to be $600 million.
A launch customer for the B.777-300 and 777-200 programs, Cathay Pacific currently operates seven B.777-300s and five B.777-200s. With this latest order, Cathay Pacific Airways' B.777 fleet will increase to 15 in total by the end of 2004. The B.777 family of airplanes has more than 30 customers worldwide. To date, airlines have ordered more than 600 of the various B.777 models.
