Egyptair ha firmato un contratto con Airbus per l’acquisto di sette bimotori A 330-200. Il vettore, che utilizza già parecchi tipi di aerei Airbus, non aveva ancora ordinato questo modello. Le consegne dei nuovi velivoli, configurati per 275 passeggeri, inizieranno nel giugno 2004. La compagnia nazionale egiziana prevede di impiegare gli A 330-200 soprattutto sulle rotte all’interno del Medio Oriente e verso l’Europa.
Egyptair è uno dei maggiori clienti Airbus nel Medio Oriente: la sua flotta attuale comprende sette A 320, quattro A 321, tre A 340-200, due A 300B4 cargo e sette A 300-600 passeggeri. Altri cinque A 320 saranno consegnati nei prossimi mesi. Ad oggi la famiglia A 330/A 340 ha accumulato più di 750 ordini da parte di oltre 60 compagnie aeree.

Egyptair has signed a contract with Airbus for the purchase of seven A 330-200s. This is the first acquisition of an aircraft of this type by Egyptair which already operates a large Airbus fleet. Deliveries for the aircraft are scheduled to begin in June 2004. The Egyptian flag carrier plans to operate the A 330-200 on routes mainly within the Middle East and to Europe. In Egyptair’s layout the aircraft will seat around 275 passengers in a highly comfortable configuration.
Egyptair is one of Airbus largest customers in the Middle East, today operating seven A 320s, four A 321s, three A 340-200s, two A 300B4 freighters and seven A 300-600 passenger aircraft. It also has five A 320s on order, to be delivered in the coming months. The A 330/A 340 Family has booked over 750 total orders from more than 60 customers to date.
