Pilatus Aircraft Ltd ha consegnato il millesimo esemplare del suo turboelica d’affari PC-12. Il traguardo è stato degnamente festeggiato presso la sussidiaria statunitense Pilatus Business Aircraft Ltd. che ha sede a Broomfield, nel Colorado.
L’aereo “Numero 1000” è stato ritirato dal nuovo proprietario, David Fountain di Halifax (Nuova Scozia/Canada), che aveva già acquistato due aerei dello stesso tipo. Investitore privato per professione, egli intende pilotare personalmente il suo nuovo PC-12, come aveva già fatto con gli esemplari precedenti. Fountain ha comperato tutti e tre gli aeroplani dal V. Kelner Pilatus Center, rappresentante esclusivo Pilatus e Centro Assistenza per il Canada, con base a Thunder Bay, Ontario.
In un anno da record per la Pilatus, nel 2009 sono stati consegnati cento PC-12 NG, uno dei quali era il 900° esemplare costruito. Dalla sua entrata in servizio nel 1994, il PC-12 è costantemente cresciuto in termini di vendite, tanto da diventare il più diffuso monoturbina d’affari del mondo. Una parte delle strutture del PC-12 è costruita dalla OGMA – Indústria Aeronáutica de Portugal e, a seguito di un recente accordo, dalla polacca PZL-Świdnik S.A., sussidiaria dell’AgustaWestland.
Oltre al trasporto executive, il versatile PC-12 svolge vari tipi di attività in tutto il mondo, compresi voli commuter, missioni di aeroambulanza, compiti di polizia e controllo frontiere, trasporto cargo, collegamento militare e collegamenti di linea a breve raggio. Ad oggi, tutti i PC-12 in attività hanno totalizzato più di 2,6 milioni di ore volo, molte delle quali svolte in situazioni climatiche ed ambientali estremamente impegnative.

Pilatus Aircraft Ltd has delivered the 1000th PC-12 business single-turboprop at a special ceremony at its wholly owned subsidiary Pilatus Business Aircraft, Ltd. in Broomfield, Colorado.
The milestone aircraft was handed over to its new owner, Mr. David Fountain from Halifax, Nova Scotia (Canada), who is now a three-time PC-12 owner. A private investor by trade, he plans to fly his new aircraft himself as he has done with his two previous PC-12s. He purchased all three aircraft from V. Kelner Pilatus Center, the exclusive Pilatus Sales and Service Center for Canada located in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
Having a record year in 2009 with 100 PC-12 NG deliveries, Pilatus celebrated the delivery of the 900th PC-12 just last year. Since its introduction in 1994, the PC-12 has steadily grown in sales and success to become one of the top selling turbine-powered business aircraft in the world. A part of the PC-12 structures are manufactured by OGMA – Indústria Aeronáutica de Portugal and, in accordance with a recent agreement, by PZL-Świdnik S.A. of Poland, a subsidiary of AgustaWestland.
The versatile PC-12 performs many roles worldwide, including executive transport, commuter, air ambulance, police and border surveillance, cargo, incident response, military liaison, and regional airliner. The PC-12 fleet has amassed more than 2.6 million flight hours of operating experience, including thousands of hours in some of the harshest environments.
